Graveside memorial services for Mary Kathryn “Kathy” Shoemaker, age 74, of Kahoka, MO, will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Keokuk, IA.

Kathy Shoemaker died unexpectedly on Friday, December 2, 2016 in the emergency room of Scotland Co. Memorial Hospital in Memphis, of a heart attack following complications with her heart from a stroke she suffered on June 3, 2016.

Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka after 9 a.m. Tuesday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Cremation will follow.

Memorials are suggested to Boy Scout Troop # 145.

Officiating at the service will be Pastor Shawn McAfee.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Warren E. “Doc” Shoemaker of the home;

two sons,
Matthew W. (Carol) Shoemaker
and their children Brianna and Riley, Bryan, Michelle and Justin of Arbela, MO;
Craig D. (Dawn) Shoemaker
and their children Kaylee and Andrew “A.J.” of Monroe City, MO;

a daughter, Karen A. (Douglas) Bright
and their children Alicia, Renee`, and Cameron of Keokuk, IA;

three sisters:
Barbara Raymond of Gig Harbor, WA,
Christine (Bill) Fayard of Conroe, TX and
Bonnie Baker of Houghton, IA;

brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Peggy Howard of Marion, IA,
Kathleen Parkin of Douds, IA,
Lowell Shoemaker of San Antonio, TX,
Roy (Irene) Shoemaker of Taylorville, IL,
Russell (Susan) Shoemaker of Loveland, CO
and Alice Ortell of San Francisco, CA;

as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
