A 67 year old Huntsville, Missouri man was killed in a two vehicle accident at 5:00 p.m. this past Saturday in Randolph County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident involved a 1981 Yamaha motorcycle driven westbound by Richard D, Drew, who struck some ridges in the roadway.  The motorcycle he was driving went out of control, travelled into the eastbound lane, and struck a 2005 Ford Escape driven by 34 year old Katharine S. Lucas of Huntsville, head-on.

Drew was killed in the accident, and his body was taken to Patton Funeral Home in Huntsville.  Drew was pronounced dead at the scene by the Randolph County Coroner.

34-year-old Katharine S. Lucas and two passengers in the vehicle she was driving; her son, 9 year old Bryson Lucas; and Lucas’s 13-year-old daughter Emma Purdy, all sustained minor injuries, and were taken by Randolph County Ambulance to Moberly Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The accident happened on Route “BB” 4 1/2 miles west of route “A” in Randolph County…

This makes the 25th fatality for troop “B” for 2012.
