Martin “Marty” Ellison

Martin “Marty” Ellison, 62, of Kahoka died Thursday, July 21, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born February 4, 1954 in Keokuk, the son of Elmer Nicholas and Jenerette Louise Nichols Ellison.  On July 6, 2016 he was united in marriage to Rita Haage.  She survives.

He is also survived by his son, Travis Ellison and his wife Gena, his daughter, Paula O’Brien, seven grandchildren, Cassandra Ellison, Abby Ellison, Alexis Ellison, Keelie O’Brien, Mackenzie O’Brien, Chloe Brewer and Dane Brewer all of Kahoka, three brothers, Gene Ellison of Kahoka, Bill Ellison and his wife Carolyn of Kahoka and Gus Cameron of Rayne, LA, three sisters, Ruby Shoup, Kay Hess and her husband Dean and Mary Weber and her husband Larry all of Kahoka, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Ellison and Louise Ellison Cameron and his brother, Mark Cameron, a brother-in-law, Johnny Shoup and a nephew, Robert Weber

Marty was a life-long Cardinal Fan, enjoyed bowling, playing softball and baseball and even coached softball.  He was one that always had a joke to add to a conversation, He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and cherished the time he spent with his family.  He always enjoyed watching his grandkids play in sports.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Clark County Moose Lodge in Kahoka.

Memorials may be made to the local Clark County Cancer Fund.

The Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lana Lee

Lana Lucille Lee, 74 of Kahoka died Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Clark County Nursing Home.

She was born August 29, 1941 in Keokuk, Iowa the daughter of Henry and Jessie Boyd Schneider.  On June 2, 1963 she was united in marriage to William “Kent” Lee at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Keokuk, Iowa.  He preceded her in death on October 19, 2005.

Lana was employed by Places later known as Pamida in Kahoka for 20 years.

She loved to work in her flower garden, growing beautiful flowers. She enjoyed playing solitaire and listening to Country and 50’s Rock music.  She loved having picnics and being surrounded by all her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and cherished the time she had with them. Her true pride and joy was her four grandchildren as she always had time to play with them and do a chop stick duet on the piano with them.

She is survived by two sons, David Lee and his wife Shelly of Chatham, IL, and Jon Lee and his wife Kandis of Kahoka, four grandchildren, Kelsie, Katie, Breanna and Camryn Lee, four brothers, George Schneider and his wife Charlotte, Jack Schneider and his wife Diane and Steve Schneider and his wife Cindy, three sisters, Dixie Vanzile and her husband Dick, Karen Nicolols and  Janet Hoppe and her husband Larry, three sisters-in-law, Leih Ann Hayden of Kahoka, Linda Boudreau and her husband Lloyd of Canton and Dixie Schneider and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Alice Miller and her husband Jim and Gloria Ruffcorn and her husband Ken, one brother, Arthur Schneider, her father-in-law and mother in-law, Wilbur “Bud” and Waneta “Bill” Lee.

Visitation will be held after 1 P.M. Friday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka with family meeting with friends from 6 – 8 P.M.

A graveside service will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday at the Kahoka Cemetery with Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating.

Procession to the cemetery will leave the funeral home at 9:45 A.M.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Sheldon Paul Zimmerman

   Sheldon Paul Zimmerman, 2 day old son of Nathan and Mary Joyce Zimmerman, of rural Rutledge, Missouri, passed away, Friday, July 222, 2016, at the Childrens Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
   Sheldon leaves behind his parents, two brothers and nine sisters, Melinda Fern, Mary Ann, Catherine Faye, Laura Joyce, Lorene Grace, Dorcas Lucille, Jonas Michael, Sarah Jolene, Joshua Nathan, Rosanna Beth and Emilena Joy Zimmerman; grandparents, Paul and Lydia Zimmerman of Rutledge, Missouri and John David and Mary Huber of Memphis, Missouri; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
   He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Earl Martin.
   Graveside Services will be Sunday, July 24, 2016, at 2:30 p.m. at the Oak View Mennonite Church and Cemetery, southeast of Edina, Missouri.



A Mass of Christian Burial for William D. Riney, age 86 of Punta Gorda, FL will be held
Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Martha’s Catholic Church in Wayland, MO.

William Riney died November 21, 2015 at his home in Punta Gorda.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. on Saturday until the time of services at 10 a.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Ladies Auxiliary of St. Martha’s in Wayland.

Officiating at the service will be Father Christopher Aubuchon assisted by Pastoral Administrator, Kristen Roth.

   Funeral Services for Martin K. Huber, 74, of Rutledge, Missouri will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at the Millport Mennonite Church south of Rutledge, Missouri.
   Visitation will be Tuesday, July 26, 2016, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Hillcrest Mennonite Community Center south of Memphis, Missouri.
   Burial will be in the Millport Mennonite Cemetery south of Rutledge, Missouri.

Huber of Terre Hill, PA, Sara Ann and Paul Weaver of Myerstown, PA, and Laura and Enos Showalter of S. Graveside services for Raymond Allen Terrill, age 87 of Kansas City, MO will be held
Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul Cemetery located northwest of Kahoka.

Raymond Terrill died Friday, July 15, 2016 at Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cameron, MO.

Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka after 10:00 a.m. Saturday with family receiving friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:20 p.m. at which time the procession will proceed to the cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Paul Cemetery.

Pearl E. Grubb 1924 – 2016

Funeral services for Pearl Grubb, 91, of rural Memphis will be at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, July 21, 2016, at the United Methodist Church in Memphis with Pastor Paul Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Memphis Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, July 20, 2016, from 12 to 8 p.m. at Payne’s with the family present to greet friends from 6 to 8 that evening.
Pearl passed away Saturday night, July 16, 2016, at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL
She is survived by her children, Russell Grubb and his wife Karen of Hannibal, MO, Elaine Briggs and her husband Richard of Memphis, Diane Duley and her husband Phil of Memphis and Jerry Grubb and his wife Lisa of Memphis, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, a sister: Winnie Fish of Hillsdale MI, along with several nieces and nephews and many friends.
