Glen Brown

     Glen Edgar Brown 79, of Kahoka, MO and of Mission, TX died Thursday, June 13, 2013 at his home in Mission, Texas.

     He was born September 28, 1933 in Argyle, IA the son of Oscar and Lillian Branson Brown.  On May 24, 1952 he was united in marriage to Anne Kilkenny in Las Vegas, NV.  She survives.

     Other survivors include two sons, Tony Brown and his wife Debby of Kahoka, MO and Neil Brown and his wife Jennette of Argyle, MO, four grandsons, Jeff Brown and Brandy, Byron Brown and Crystal, Matthew Brown and Adam Brown-Sutton, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Alan Brown, two sisters, Helen Roberts and Betty Taylor and two brothers, Ray Brown and Kenneth Brown.

     Glen graduated from the Luray High School in Luray, MO with the Class of 1951.

     He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and dedicated to serving his country.

     Glen was a lifelong farmer. 

     He was a member of the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Keokuk, IA and the Wyaconda Lion’s Club.

     Glen enjoyed traveling and loved to spend the winter in Texas.

     Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO.  Burial will be in the Kahoka Cemetery.

     Visitation will be Wednesday with family meeting with friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

     Memorials may be made to the Clark County Nutrition Center.

Funeral services for Barbara J. Dunning, age 58, of Kahoka, MO will be held Thursday,
June 20, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with burial following in the
Kahoka Cemetery.

Barbara J. Dunning died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 16, 2013 in the emergency room of Keokuk Area Hospital.

Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Wednesday with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Clark Co. Senior Center.

Funeral services for Cathy (Brown) Thomas, 55, of rural Memphis, will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 19 at the Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis.

Burial will be in the Granger Cemetery.

Cathy Thomas died early Friday morning, June 14, 2013, at her home.

Visitation is from noon until 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, at the Gerth Funeral Home, with the family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.

Officiating the service will be the Rev. Mark Boley.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her husband Randy of the home; her beloved pet, Eddie; mother, Leta Brown of Kahoka; children, Dawn Michelle Graham and husband Peter of Healy, Alaska, Andrea Jenkins, Brooke Nicole Jenkins and her special friend, Andrew Washburn, all of Kahoka; step children, Maranda Ziebarth and husband Shane of Macon, MO and Sandra Swearingen and husband Craig of Memphis; brothers and sisters, Brenda Cochenour and husband Jerry of Arbela, Roy Brown and wife Brenda of Kahoka, Debbie Rudd of Montrose, IA, Beverly Frady and husband Everett of Kirksville, Janet Mattingly and husband Mark of Memphis, and Tami Townsend and husband Rick of Montrose; 13 grandchildren; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rodney and Debbie Thomas of Gorin; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pat Shelton died Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at her home in Vevay.

Officiating the service will be Dan Hite, pastor of the Memphis First Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Violet Jean Downey, age 77, formerly of Kahoka, will be held Monday, June 10, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with burial following in the Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton, MO.

Jean Downey died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in the Montebello HealthCare Center in Hamilton, IL.

Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of services Monday at Wilson Funeral Home.
