Funeral services for 83-year-old William Eugene Miller of Etowah, North Carolina, formerly of Kirksville, Missouri, will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri with burial in the Downing City Cemetery in Downing, Missouri.

William Eugene Miller passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018 in Mills River, North Carolina.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri.

Memorials have been established for the Downing Christian Church or to the Downing City Cemetery.

Officiating the funeral services will be Larry Smith, Pastor of the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Clara Faye Miller of Etowah, North Carolina; 4 children, Steven Miller and wife, Kathy of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Stanley Miller and wife, Stephenie of Falcon, Colorado, Douglas Miller and wife, Terri of Windsor, Colorado and Karen Burns and husband, Patrick of Hendersonville, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and expecting two more this year; 1 sister, Linda Moore and husband, Mearl; nieces and nephews and other family members.

Funeral services for Teresa Renee Yearns, 54, of Memphis will be at 10 a.m., Friday, April 20 at the Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis with Sonny Smyser, pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith, officiating.

Teresa Yearns died Tuesday morning, April 17, at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Visitation is from 12-7 p.m., Thursday, at the Gerth Funeral Home with the family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m.

Julia Manton

Julia Manton, 57, of Wayland, MO died Monday, April 16, 2018 at her home after a long courageous battle with ALS.

She was born October 6, 1960 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of William and Mary Lou Merrell White and was raised by Walter Morgan.  On March 21, 1998, she was united in marriage to the love of her life and best friend, Kevin Manton at the Trinity Methodist Church in Keokuk.

She is  survived by her husband, Kevin Manton of Wayland, four sons, Gordan Lee (Alyssa) Smeltser of Quincy, James David (Teresa) Smeltser of Wayland, Brandon Dale Manton of Kahoka, and Logan Douglas (Janie) Smeltser of Wayland, six grandchildren,  two brothers, Billy (Karen) Stein of Anchorage, Alaska, and David (Bonnie) Morgan of Kahoka, three sisters, Susan (Frank) Conrad of Donnellson, Patricia (Brian) Gabel of Keokuk, and Bobbie Blaze of Carthage, and her best friend, Gayle Long from Keokuk along with numerous nieces and nephews .

Memorials may be made to the ALS Association.

A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Wayland.

Joseph Fredrick Collis died on Friday, April 13, 2018 at his home in Kennett, Missouri.

Funeral services for Morris A. (Mike) Walker Jr., 94, of Memphis will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, Apr. 14, 2018, at the First Presbyterian Church in Memphis with Pam Glasgow officiating. Interment will follow in the Campground Cemetery West of Memphis.

Mike Walker passed away early Tuesday morning, Apr. 3, 2018, at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis.

Dorothy A. Conover, 68, of Canton, MO died Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

She was born October 10, 1949 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of George and Delila Lipper Evermon. On August 30, 1979 Dorothy was united in marriage to Dean Conover in Vero Beach, Florida. He survives.

She is also survived by two children, Russell Pratt of Trinity, North Carolina, Angela (Ron) Eakins of Bucklin, MO, two step children, Mike (Amy) Conover of Kansas City and Deanna (Danny) Coin of Kirksville, five grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, her sister, Barb (Alan) Beaird of Wyaconda, one brother, Vernon Evermon of Wyaconda, and five nieces, Pamela (Josh) Stephens, Ashley Varnold, Sarah Varnold, Brenda (Kenny) Witt and Emmaleigh Beaird.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Anthony Dalton, her brother, Michael Evermon, her sister, Reta Varnold, her sister in law, Lois Evermon.

Gathering of Remembrance will be held 5 – 8 p.m.  Friday, April 6 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, Missouri
